Hiiii!! I’m so glad you're here! If you're looking for a makeup artist who will be your #1 hype girl while also ensuring your hair and makeup slay, then you’ve come to the right place. At Valaer Artistry, my philosophy is simple: every bride deserves to look and feel exquisite on their wedding day. We’ve all had that traumatic experience of getting our hair and makeup done for an event and coming out looking like a mix between a founding father and Cruella de Vil. That’s not how I do things (unless that's your vibe, no judgment).

Over my 7 years in the beauty industry, I’ve become highly skilled in creating makeup looks that feel natural yet last for 10+ hours of dancing, hugging, crying, and kissing. As for hair, nobody wants flat curls or an updo that makes them look bald. We’ll tease, spray, and make sure your hair stays flawless all night long.

I got my start in this industry thinking I wanted to pursue something in special effects. I found a makeup school that specialized in both special effects and beauty makeup, quit my job two weeks later, and moved to Vegas at 21 (sorry, Mom). I didn’t think ahead enough to realize that with special effects and gore, you have to research gore. After a few months of googling “forearm being ripped off,” “nails in leg,” “stage 3 burns,” and definitely getting flagged by the government for the torture methods I was looking up, I realized I didn’t have the stomach for it. Making people look pretty was WAY more fun. Once I returned from Las Vegas, I was super lost and didn’t realize just how incredible the wedding industry was here. In 2020, a friend who owned a venue asked for help in the bridal department, and I was HOOKED. I started doing 30-40 weddings a year and then created Valaer Artistry in 2022.

Since starting bridal makeup in Portland, I’ve gotten married, bought a house, adopted a dog and two cats, and began my sobriety journey (3 years now!!). Everything feels so right in this career, and I honestly feel bad when people talk about how miserable their jobs are because every day I love mine more. Nothing makes me happier than making people feel beautiful, and I hope we can do just that for your special day! ❤️
